Senior Friendship Program of Rice County

Friendships are important and they enrich our lives. Catholic Charities Active Aging Programs and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) connects volunteers age 55 and over with senior members of the community in the Faribault and Northfield area. The Senior Friendship Program is a volunteer based program that offers community members friendship and support to continue to live independently in their homes. Volunteers typically meet with their senior friend once a week. This friendship and support may include:

  • Visiting and spending time together
  • Attending a community event together
  • Helping with trips to the grocery store or an appointment
  • Participating in hobbies or activities
  • Assisting with a small household task
