SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) is an evidence-based exercise program developed by the Washington State Department of Health.  The hour long classes held twice per week include low impact aerobics, balance exercises, strength training with dumbbells and ankle weights, and stretching exercises.  The program is able to accommodate people with a mild level of mobility difficulty up to those who are regularly active.  The exercises focus on improving flexibility, bone and muscle strength, balance and overall fitness. Current health topics are discussed during the stretching portion to engage your mind as well as your body.  A natural outcome of these fun classes is the beneficial social interaction provided along with the exercise.   Catholic Charities offers this class at no cost for anyone 55+ looking to improve their health and well-being. Get ready to have some FUN and to stay active and independent for life!
