Zina Jadooa, a refugee from Iraq and an employee of Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program, and Kristina Hammell, Director of the Refugee Resettlement Program, were invited to be a part of Journey of Peace Rochester: City of Compassion at Assisi Heights Sunday, Oct 23rd. Zina Jadooa was invited to speak on the topic of “In My Shoes…This is What Compassion Looks Like,” where she shared her story of feeling compassion from the community when she walked into her first apartment after arriving in the U.S. with the help of the Refugee Resettlement Program and seeing the furniture that was donated by those in the community. Zina also shared what the last 6 years for her and her family’s lives has been like in the community and the compassion she sees on a daily basis from the Rochester community.
