Connecting people with opportunities to thrive.

Money Smart for Older Adults

Money Smart for Older Adults

Money Smart for Older Adults (MSOA)  is a three hour workshop.  The program provides information and tips to help prevent common frauds, scams and other types of elder financial exploitation.

Participants learn ways to recognize and reduce the risk of financial exploitation, guard against identity theft, and plan for the loss of their ability to manage finances and prepare financially for disasters.  Using a resource guide and class participation, participants discover red flags and common fraud tactics to watch out for.  They learn about the role of a fiduciary agent and power of attorney.  Important financial paper “grab n go” plans and home inventory forms are reviewed.

Participants who complete the program feel more confident in protecting their financial integrity and protecting their assets.  The program can be offered in person or online.
