The MediAppS (Medication Application Service) Program at Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota has received a $10,000 grant through the Winona Community Foundation’s Community Grant Program. MediAppS provides emergency cash assistance for prescription medications to those living in the Winona (and surrounding) area who have limited income and are under/uninsured. The program also assists individuals with applying for cost-free medication through various pharmaceutical companies.
Upon news of receiving this grant, one grateful parent shared:
“Thanks to this wonderful grant from Winona Community Foundation, you will be able to help so many! Our son’s meds were $1,000 out of pocket a month. I remember crying, wondering what we were going to do because our son had no insurance, nothing, and we didn’t know where to turn. Thanks to Catholic Charities, my son was able to get the help he needed. God Bless you and this program.”
